Disappointment
"Blessed are those who expect nothing from God, for they shall not be disappointed."
I'm finding this to be the beatitude of this generation. Where has hope gone?

maybe we are tired of getting our hopes crushed time and time again. maybe it's easier not to expect things to protect ourselves from hurt and pain. do we really deserve anything from God anyway?

I for one am disappointed at society in general. The selfishness and generally rude behavior is at timesoverwhelming. While I know we are not to worry about this, one can't help but wonder where God is in it all.
I think you've answered your own question, Joe. It appears that maybe this generation is putting their hope in something other than Christ?
There will always be disappointments in this world, but if our hope is properly directed, then we can soar above the disappointments.
