America NOT Abandoned by God
A well written article by one of my former professors at Phoenix Seminary. He asks a question with regard to President Bush, "Lord, if you will not help this kind of a courageous President who earnestly seeks to follow you, and continually seeks to walk in paths of righteousness, then what kind of President will you ever help?" All in all, a helpful conservative review of Bush's term as president.

Do you agree with this???
Grudem is unabashed in his support of Bush and demonizing of democrats. There are always many sides to an issue, and Grudem seems to take the standard conservative side that the press construes all. God is not a republican. Nor is he a democrat. Bush is still a politician - he's playing a game and a lot of Christians swallow it whole without critical analysis. Certainly he is not a bad president, nor a terrible person. I even voted for him. But Christians should be more critical in their approach, even Dr. Grudem, who is certainly to be respected for his intellectual ability.
I was also surprised to read that Dr. Grudem did not support campaign finance reform, which seeks to equal the playing field and focus the discussion more on capability rather than financing of candidates. (The British have an excellent system that addresses this.)
Interesting article, but I’m interested to find out if you agree.
I think it's an informative review of a conservative's understanding of Bush's tenure as President.
I placed it on my blog as a topic of conversation rather than a defense for Bush and his administration.
Joe, aren't you a communist?
J/K.
I too studied under Grudem and found his article interesting.
I totally agree with anonymous that God is not a republican nor a democrat, but i feel that in light of all of the negative media, Grudem reminded me of some of the good that President Bush has done.
I love politics. I was a PoliSci major, but I am continually wrestling with politics and Jesus. How do they impact one another? Should they impact one another? Would Jesus care who was in control of Congress? Would His focus be on people rather than government? Would He be more concerned with the state of the Church?
I honestly don't know...
"How do they impact one another?"
Heh, they're both full of greed, lies, brainwashing, and half-truths.
