'Testament' is an ancient word for covenant. Thus, Old Testament literally means Old Covenant. Now that we're under the New Covenant, where does that leave the Old?

Christ came to fulfill the Law and the Prophets (Matt 5). He considers the OT of utmost importance to be obeyed, therefore shouldn't we? It's still God's law. With the new covenant, we now have a means of godly righteousness through which we can obey, and that is Jesus Christ. Romans 1:17-18..."a righteousness from God is revealed....the righteous shall live by faith"
